Overview
Central
Patient Index (CPI) is the core module within the patient-tracking
& patient-care area of healthcare facility management.
Demographic
information relating to inpatients, outpatients, surgical daycare
and emergency patients is maintained in the CPI database. Also maintained
within this module is the patient historical "encounter"
data elements which present all prior contacts that the patient
has had with the facility.
